Teflon lines fuel injector hose. E 85 fuel use Posted by SaabStalker [Email] (#1098) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabStalker) on Fri, 28 Dec 2012 21:08:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In re-sorting my parts supply, I came across a small segment of a fuel injector hose lined with a blue teflon (plastic looking insert) or inner line. I had used the major portion when fixing the check valve on top of fuel pump. Today I went to usual parts stores; no one had more. Going on line I got to a site selling such items. They did not seem to have it in linier feet, but I got side tracked by this article."Why you need to start using Ethanol /E 85 right now". The article went on to say although it was cheaper, E-85 required more to provide the same distannce travel so the cost was about the same. HOWEVER, (sorry) the octane was about 105 octane. They compared it to racing fuel. What caught my eye was they referenced Koeningsess research where the CCXR rated 806 HP produced 1,018 HP with E 85. Chime in please. Good or not good to use. Is the item a article written to promote ag fuel usage only, or are there other truths evident. I am running a 88 SPG that I tweek with premium and octane booster from time to time, just cause I like the pep.
