Had a simular intermittent smoke situation. Some regular poster suggested It could do with the crank case pressure build up. It was. The metal hose tip that enters the plastic cross pipe and draws pressure from the top of valve cover near (front) back of valve cover had pulled out of cross pipe. No more smoke out exhaust.
