More details would be interesting but with or without them you'll need to check the valve body for sticking valves, check for dislodged tubes and suspect a defect with the flex band servo or the band itself. You can test band application with air pressure. You can't repair the band assembly or servo without disassembling the transmission and problems with that servo and band do occur as mileage takes it's toll. You can tighten the band adjustment but if it's so slack that it isn't applying at all that will be wishful thinking (unless the adjusting bolt was left loose and fell out or something weird like that). Of course I'm assuming that it is properly filled with type F ATF. If there are fine metal filings on the magnet then they may have circulated long enough to cause jamming of valve body components. You may get the valve body freed up by cleaning it but the source of the filings (shot thrust bearing usually) will persist and cause a replay. Sorry, skipping second isn't something that suggests an easy fix.
