to ensure one is not loose. And be aware the threads of the big nut/axle can become stripped - just had that happen with a made-in-China axle I put in 2-1/2 years ago. It was fine when I put it in, and during two annual vehicle inspections, but this week the wheel was loose. And I agree with RadioFlyer about the front wheel bearing NOT being involved. This car ('90 SPG) had the "clunk when turning" when I got it over 10 years ago. Dealer I trusted said to change that wheel bearing - I did - it fixed the clunk about 7 years ago. But there was no shaking, just the horribly loud clunk. Yours sounds like an inner driver problem. Vern
