Congrat's! (Lots of Saab guys here have posted about that clutch shaft puller method. I can't take credit for it, but thanks anyway.) You have a Franken-Saab transmission. It's a fair bet that the original transmission's front case got busted and it was rebuilt with a front case from a '91 NA unit. I've built plenty of those myself. All main cases are interchangeable and all front cases are interchangeable except for the internal centering roll pin, which can be retro-fitted to earlier front cases.
Years ago I fixed a transmission in a truck in the middle of nowhere on the Navajo reservation in the pouring rain with a paper clip and the two pretty young ladies riding with me, who were terrified and distraught when it broke, got all excited and started yelling "He's Macgyver, he's Macgyver!" That was good day.
