no start resolved temp, but question -long Posted by Mike in KC [Email] (#1679) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike in KC) on Tue, 20 Aug 2013 14:15:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The 90 turbo stopped running. No spark. Removed dist cap and the plastic separator under the shutter wheel was shredded/bound. Odd? results were a broken hall sensor(inner piece snapped off), so using a hall sensor from a spare dist. replaced it. Car now had spark again, but no start. Noticed no fuel pump running. Checked for voltage at pump, nothing. Hot wired pump from courtesy light, fuel pump fine. Researched Saabnet and then grounded the lilac wire near the ECU, pump now works. Question. Since problem started as ignition and then the fuel pump wouldn't fire. has the ECU failed or is it possible the circuit from ECU lost the factory ground? How would I isolate the true problem? I don't want the safety feature bypassed with that lilac jumped to ground near the ECU. Or can I leave the ground, pumps runs as soon as turn on the ignition.
