Hall sensors go bad. I always carry an extra dist. Most common malady is that the engine suddenly quits then restarts after about 10 minutes. This sequence can happen a bunch of times but the pickup is not long for this world. It's a heat thang at that stage. Squirt some start fluid into an intake hose. If it runs a few secs. you probably have a fuel problem. (fuse, pump, ECU,etc.)
