It's very likely the crankshaft-reference/position sensor.
Have to remove all the belts and then the crank-pulley to access it.
I think a quick-test way to verify this is by watching the Tachomter while you are cranking. It should "bounce" slighting.
This is indicating that the signal is being generated and passed on all the way up to the ignition coil.
There is a way to bypass the crankshaft sensor:
Replace ignition distributor with a turbo-model distributor and re-wire the CKP (crank-sensor) over to the {now} CMP (Cam-position sensor) or "Hall sensor" located within the turbo distributor.
Works exactly the same way. Just different location.
EZK (ignition module) just needs to see 1-3-4-2 pulse from the engine rotation in order to generate an ignition-amp pulse and also send command to activate the fuel pump relay.
