Intermittent radiator cooling fan, electrical connector Posted by ccb056 [Email] (#1568) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ccb056) on Thu, 10 Sep 2015 21:50:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Was having issues with the passenger side radiator cooling fan not running when it was supposed to. After some investigation found out that the weatherproofing on the connector had failed, resulting in some melted plastic and charred terminals. Cut off the old connector and replaced with a Deutsch DTP connector. Did the same on the driver's side fan as preventative maintenance. Part numbers used for reference:
Pressmaster KRB 0560 crimper (I've had these for a while, pricey but very handy for electrical crimping)
(1) TE DTP04-2P Receptacle
(1) TE DTP06-2S Plug
(2) TE 1062-12-0166 Terminals
(2) TE 1060-12-0166 Terminals
(1) TE WP-2S Wedgelock
(1) TE WP-2P Wedgelock
