OK, thanks for advice! Any preference on best/worst boots to buy?
So assuming I can trust the shop to properly wash the joints, regrease, and install the boot I guess I'll go that route. Then there's the question 'did the previous owner replace with chinese crap?'...
Eurocar mechanic friend (turinsportscars.com, Mark Bury; recommended) mentioned another option wd. be to replace the joints with good Lobro german brand, but read I think here or somewhere that if the axles were replaced with chines krap they may not fit proper CV joints! Any advice on that?
