Torque arm bushings-some guidance offered

Well, I just finished replacing the bushings on the torque arm on the rear suspension so I thought I would share some tips I found. First, this is that small arm that runs horizontally from the back of the inner fender to the top of the spindle. The main bushing on the spindle connection is the culprit, as it wears a lot, so if you haven't checked it, it is likely loose and needs replacing. There is also a bushing on the other end but that is held in place by the sheetmetal and seems not to wear.
The big bushing is pressed in, so get a control-arm or ball-joint press tool, essentially a really heavy-duty C-clamp and a 26mm socket and you can push out and then press in the new bushing. Then put the arm back on, large bushing first (otherwise it will not slot in). The 26mm socket I used was just right for pressing it out. Use petroleum jelly as it helps alot. Good luck.
