I still think corrosion level is a big factor... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Thu, 21 Sep 2017 06:22:49 In Reply to: tool, brrrrown, Wed, 20 Sep 2017 08:20:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a couple O2 sensor sockets (not offset like that one though), and I find they flex due to the split. This may be heavier duty. One trick I used was to put a hose clamp around the socket and tighten it to reduce the flex.
That said, with the downpipe off the car, and even with the O2 sensor cut off to be just a stub and a normal, perfectly fitting 6 point socket on a 4' long inch thick 3/4 drive breaker bar, with alternating heat and freezing after copious amounts of liquid wrench... would not even budge... not a bit!
We don't put huge miles on these cars, so could have been on there for significantly more than 8 years.
I definitely envy those of you who live in southern climates that are less prone to winter-induced corrosion!
