That's the one, problem solved Posted by Arabiflora [Email] (#1129) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Arabiflora) on Wed, 11 Oct 2017 01:43:39 In Reply to: Re: Route of cabin air distribution hose?, Roger D [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 10 Oct 2017 04:18:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi Roger, yes it's the cheesy little brown tube, ~1" diameter that fits onto the driver's side of the air circulation manifold. There's one on the right side, as well, that quickly disappears upstream into the innards of the dash to a destination unknown-- but at least the passenger side hose is still seemingly attached at both ends. It is with some embarrassment that I jumped to the conclusion that it MUST feed the DS defroster vent but I hadn't actually "done the experiment" until this afternoon. I switched the circulation control to defrost (12:00 noon on the dial) and I get plenty of flow from the speaker vent. I suspect you are right and that the brown tube provides a wisp of air to the smallish (upper) dash vent, but I've never cared about that vent before and I certainly don't care now. I'll throw the useless PoC away, button-up the lower dash and center console, and call it a day.
Thanks for the advice and prompt to do what I shoulda done in the first place.
Scott
