I just rebuilt the entire main harness in my 1985 SPG. It’s not that difficult, the hardest part is finding all of the correct wire gauges and colors. There is a book for 1985 wiring/electronics from SAAB that is also VERY helpful. You can get most of the wire from Rhode Island Wire, and the rest you can find on eBay with some searching. You have to replace each wire one by one. You have to be very meticulous but it is possible. Usually the wiring is only bad in areas where the wire was exposed, or where it had chemical exposure (brake fluid and oil) so you can splice out the old bad wiring with new wire. 85 turbo was a one year harness so replacing with a different year is difficult not to mention everything would still be 30+ year old wire even if replacing the entire thing with a used harness. So if you want new wire then rebuilding it yourself is really the only option.
