Those switches can be carefully opened and cleaned. Check the top fuse as well. It's in a small single fuse box on the passenger side inner fender. You twist the two sections 90 degrees CCW and they will pull apart. inside is a 25 amp Bosch type fuse and they can get corroded on the ends and make intermittent contact. There is supposed to be a spare fuse in the main fuse box too.
