Power steering fluid in the cabin?! Posted by philwags [Email] (#37) [Profile/Gallery] (more from philwags) on Mon, 2 Aug 2021 11:05:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So... newbie here so I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question. Recently purchased a 1992 900 Convertible that has the usual issues expected in a 30 year old car, amongst them was a power steering fluid leak that the PO said had been going on for years and his mechanic told him "they all do that just add some more when you need to." Along with this the passenger side carpet was heavily stained with what looked like oil, I wrote that off to a messy spill some time in the previous 3 decades but today I watched as something was dripping on the driveway from a weep hole behind the passenger seat. I removed the rear seat and when I pulled the carpet up to look there was a pool of standing fluid (it is definitely not hydraulic fluid from the convertible top pump). I'm still working my way forward but any idea how/where to look first before I have the entire interior disassembled would be greatly appreciated!
