Back to a C900 daily driver 2 Saabers Like This Post! Posted by Matt Grimes [Email] (#2198) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Matt Grimes) on Wed, 1 Dec 2021 19:56:36 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Back in October, after one and a half years of working from home, I decided to be part of the Great Resignation. I retired a few years early and sold my so-called daily driver which in reality had gotten to be more like a monthly driver. The pleasant part of this scenario was getting the C900 out of storage and it has now become my "daily driver".
The C900 has been driven only a few hundred miles in the past couple of years (hence my absence from the forum) and needed some deferred maintenance completed to make it suitable for my daily driver. Since Oct 1st I've completed the following items:
- new brake pads on the rear which got rid of the annoying clunk noise when braking in reverse
- updated the dash lighting with LED (wow!)
- replaced a few other instrument switch bulbs
- fixed the rheostat which was just spinning in the dash
- got the courtesy lights working
- oil and filter change
- new battery
And just today I got the cracked fuel tank repaired and re-installed...no more gas stink in the cabin...whoohoo!
Still a few more things to do but overall I'm pleased with the progress and happy to be back driving the Saab again. I've missed it.
