Simon - I’m not sure how to take your comment. This is the 1st 900 I have owned, so I am unfamiliar with 1986 original design and build specifications. There appears to be scant information about 900 seat attachment in the Bentley manual. I’m aware of later Saab build quality and safety, since my daughter is alive because of 1) her driving skills and 2) being in a SportCombi run off I-95 by a 10-wheeler (hopefully unintentionally) above Baltimore. It seems to me if the Driver’s seat had no lateral or front-to back movement before removal, why, after setting the seat into the rear “hooks”, then tightening the two front floor bolts, there is now play. So, it may “sound normal” to you, but it doesn’t seem normal to me. Hopefully, someone with more 900 knowledge than I have, will help me.
