First, thanks to everyone who provided opinions on my earlier post "something fishy about my turbo. . ."
I have basically come to the opinion that my car must have had a water-cooled turbo installed w/o hooking it into the coolant system, thus there are no lines attached to the water inlet and outlet for the turbo. The oil lines and soleniod are both securely attached to the turbo.
I just went out and checked, and my turbo is a garrett turbo, model # TB0357 stamped on a little green plate. (There were some other numbers, but I don't remember them.)
So, here is my next set of questiosn: How hard would it be to add the water cooling lines? I really feel like it is something I should do, even though I'm sure the turbo would last w/o it (since someone mentioend that they have heard of water-cooled turbos installed just as mine is.) I am assuming it would just mean replacing some radiatior hoses or something, right?
Thanks again for all the help so far. While peering at the turbo, I remembered a couple other little fishy things I've noticed over time (wires not plugged into anything, etc.) I'll probably make a list and ask some more questions later this week.
