Well, It was late last night, raining, thundering, storming, and election results were pouring in from right and left. Seemed the perfect time to fix the wiper since I needed to drive to work this morning. Anyway, I was finally able to loosen the cable, (it does NOT work to free the fixed end, wrap it up and reinsert the cable) futzed with it for about an hour, used harsh language (that seemed to help a lot, but produced no tangible results), did the moose poop dance, and then as I was giving up to sleep (it was almost 1 am), the cable magically wrapped itself around the cam and viola!! I was back on track! With no loctite handy, I was happy to just reassemble the thing, and I figure now that I am practiced, the second time around will only involve selected harsh language, instead of the shotgun approach. Of course, now my on board repair kit will include loctite, an 8 mm wrench, and a tiny flathead screwdriver. A big THANKS to all who helped!!
