WOW! Nathan, you must be taking it to a shop that gives a hoot! LOL. I usually just take my cars wherever I can find the most rednecks, speak to them in my best redneck-slang, help them do the inspection (i never let anyone drive my cars, so i always drive them in and out of the bays, kills me to hear some redneck "CHUNK" it into reverse when it doesn't need to happen), and I'm out of there in less than 15 minutes most of the time! "Lights work?" "yup". "Turn signals? Yup". "Tires look pretty good" "yup". "How are the brakes?" "Pretty good, just replaced the fronts a few months ago". "Horn Work?" "yup". "How many miles are on it?" "Ummm, let's see, about 210grand I think....yup, 210,8xx". "OK, go ahead and back it out, I'll grab a razor and a new sticker for ya, that'll be 15 bucks". "Thanks a lot pal, see ya later!" I have had this same conversation in Ithaca, Binghamton, Greene, Chenango Forks/Bridge area, and probably others that I can't think of in Upstate NY. Now that I think of it, one time I had my motorcycle inspected, and on the way there, I broke the horn button out of it's socket on accident. When I got there, the guy just grabbed an extra car battery he had lying around, and jumped the switch to hear the horn beep! That's my experience with NYS inspections. Bummer for Jersey. I think I heard that P.A. is a pain in the butt too. On the other hand, I heard that most of the cars in florida are falling apart at the seams, apparently FLA. doesn't have any inspection laws or anything!
