Ok got started on putting the zip ties on the mantifold, and other blow off points via Monsters recomendation. Then got out the timing light. I've put on the larger 9000 Flywheel and then the larger clutch by my shop the last time it went in. Well I was looking for the numbers on the flywheel and I could see a line that was etched into the flywheel. No numbers to go by and I didn't have a fancy Snap on Tools digital timing light. So I didn't have any idea on how to start to see what the timing actually was. The shop said it was timed to 17 BTC, but how was that possible without the numbers? So I did what any manley man would do. I knew that I had to advance it so I did. Moved the mark to the left and went for a drive. Wow, what a difference and no Poping sounds of hoses. Even better. I was going to try to adjust it some more but I'd like to get an idea of where I'm really at. I'm assuming that its around 19-20 BTC, and solid boost. Yep, plus the 10 degrees outside made it run really strong. Almost got off the road with wheel spin in 2nd.... I love the AID and can't wait to get it dialed in properly and to take it up to Loveland on Friday to ski. So the question remains how to tell where I am timing wise with out the flywheel numbers?
Thanks,
Bill in Denver
