The reason mine cost me $350 is because they are made of stainless steel. If you look at the pic that's posted, the ball/mount/etc. is all STAINLESS STEEL & not plastic, that's why they are more. They are designed for RALLY racing as well as street use.
I originally paid $387 per shifter & they were shipped to me & I then sent them to people's door after that which cost me another $15. I wanted to make something so $425 is what I decided on. After selling a few of them, the price has come down for me but I haven't moved my selling price because of what I spend advertising & all that stuff.
The only OEM piece on my shifters is the shaft & plunge which is simply more cost effective to do it that way. It needs to be hollow to allow the reverse lockout to work, everything else is Oh so sweeet looking :o)
The flex isn't caused by the shaft being hollow (if that's what you meant) but from the poor design of the mount & bearing. Simply moving the pivot point up a tad will reduce the throws as well as reducing the slop.
I am curious to see what he does with his shifters in regards to how the plastic parts work with each other.
Also, the trannies I get are made to at least the same quality standard as what the shifters are :o)
