Next time you're stuck trying to go uphill on ice with TCS, remember what's hidden somewhere in the owner's manual - to temporarily disable TCS on your '93 (which doesn't have a TCS disable switch), _lightly_ depress the brake pedal and hold it while trying to accellerate - lightly meaning, just enough that you hear the brake light switch click, not enough to actually cause any braking.
I had to relay this to the morons at my local emissions testing place yesterday when they had my car on the dyno for the exhaust test... they'd start to spin it up, TCS would kick on, the car would jerk like crazy, and they'd stop, scratch their heads, and look for a TCS disable for a while before trying the process again. After three times, I walked out of the "waiting area" and onto the service bay floor, and told the guy how to disable it (as I had tried to do when I handed the car off to him, to which he ignorantly dismissed me).
