Well, Saab says you never have to change it. The only way to get the old oil out, unless the transmission is out of the car, is by syringe/sucking device. However, you never really get it all out so you have to use the type that was in there originally. I strongly urge you to check previous posts about what oil to use -- some, including me, have used synthetic, namely Red Line, with catastrophic results (literally). If you are trying to improve shifter feel, check the motor mounts first.
