electrical question for Ari

My '92 9000T has developed some persistent electrical glitches in the last couple of weeks. After sitting in a hotel parking garage for three nights, it barely cranked enough to start. It then sat outdoors for two nights and then needed to be jump started in order for me to drive home to New York. I've subsequently had intermittent cold start woes since then, and have needed a jump start once in the last week.
The battery is a 3.5 year old sealed unit. How do I determine whether it's a battery or alternator issue? I'd like to replace whichever component is the source of the problem, and would prefer not to replace both, if only one is the cause. I'm not getting the battery light while running the car, nor am I seeing any dimming of lights. When I'm driving, the voltage display on the EDU shows a consistent 13.8-13.9. This morning it got as low as 7.7 before starting the car with considerable difficulty.
