It would seem unlikely to work by plugging the voids. There's a lot of force that is supposed to distributed across that surface-area/volume.
The trick is to replace ONE end with factory-"rubber" and the OTHER with poly. The reason for this is the one end is almost impossible to replace and the other is obtained easily.
I think the trick is buy the "dogbone" with the factory rubber in place. Then saw out the old one in the fixed-end and use the two-piece poly in there. I think I got that right, but check around the site here, more than one person has done this before.
I understand the combo of one-factory one-poly is not objectionable in noise and does offer some improvement in engine-movement. (Shifting might be improved esp. under load.)
