Greetings, All,
Just fixed a driver's side power window problem which had been driving me nuts for a year. At first, the driver's window worked intermittently, then stopped. I cleaned the contacts, as recommended, which helped briefly, but stopped again soon.
1. Bought a wrecking yard switch, which didn't fix the problem.
2. Bought a NEW switch, which didn't fix the problem.
3. Opened the plug-in connector inside the driver's door jam, determined the red/white and black/white wires at the top and bottom of the connector drive the window motor, which was working fine.
4. No red/white continuity between the plug on the console and the plug at the door jam, but had black/white continuity, but some resistance showing.
5. Traced the wires inside, down the kick panel, down the inside rocker panel and across under the driver's seat.
6. A FREEKIN' PLUG-IN CONNECTOR UNDER THERE WAS LOOSE!!!!!!!!
7. Pushed it in and problem solved. Only took a year and spending $250 on parts I didn't need.
Now, I've got a NEW and a used window switch panel for a '90+ for sale!
