After reading everything I could find about this subject on this site, I purchased a Clarion DC625 six disk CBUS changer. The factory installed cable was easy to find in the trunk beneath the carpeting in the fender well by the antenna. I decided to mount it to the underside of the lid covering the spare tire so I wouldn't loose any trunk space or risk damaging the changer with the contents in the trunk. The supplied mounts came with double sided tape that didn't remain stuck to the wood underside of the lid. Instead, I used contact cement to successfully attach the mounting hardware. This end of things took less than 45 minutes (I'm slow.)
I wanted to be able to still use my factory "Clarion Made for Saab" in dash CD player so I purchased the Clarion CBUS adapter cable that I read about here on the bulletin board. My surprise came when I waisted 30 minutes digging in the dash to find the other end of the factory installed CBUS cable (to plug into the adapter, and then into my reciever.) What I discovered was that I didn't need the "CBUS Y adpater" everyone was talking about. The cable I was searching for was already plugged into my equilizer/changer and the unit, as it came for the factory, already had the ability to switch between the in dash CD player and my new changer in the trunk.
I LOVE MY NEW CHANGER. I was suprised by how much better it sounds than the in dash CD player! I returned the "CBUS Y adapter" to my Saab dealer saving myself $75, bringing the total cost of adding the changer to $180. Much better than the $500 the dealer wants to add one.
