Use of copper with Antifreeze

I just installed a water Temperature guage on my Aero, and mounted the sensor on the top radiator hose using all copper plumbing. The question is, is there any problems with using copper with the cooling system?
If there is no problem it is an easy way to install the sensor, and cheap $6 for the fixture (Home Depot).
BTW, mounting the sensor on the top radiator hose is a good place, if the thermostat gets stuck closed or open it is easy to tell by looking at the stock temperature guage and comparing it with the VDO guage.
