I replaced both uppper and lower and tranny mounts recently. I have a 90 9000T. The upper brakets come out with out any trouble and without any other component removal. It sounds like things are different on other models. I have a freind who has a 91 2.3 T and the bracket arrangement is the same as mine, no trouble removing the brakets. I removed the old mount from the bracket with a hydraulic press as you mentioned
