O.k. first off, 89 9kCDT. Old shocks, struts and suspension were extremely worn and grandmas car drove better. Subsequently I installed all new front suspension pieces with urethane rear bushings. Installed SAS bars F&R, Spax springs and Bilstein sport(yellow) shocks. Running 205/55 - 16 tires on 16X 7.5 wheels. The ride was great for my daily commute albeit a bit stiff. Handling was drastically changed to a very sporty ride. The car would do well in Solo II. I've been quite happy with my commute since. However, I recently moved into the mountains and my commute is no longer mostly interstate but rather through 'old town' and then up the hill to home. The road quality is less than desirable with severe undulations due to lots of patching and cracks.
So to the point, I am no longer pleased with the ride quality and the jarring is quite severe and with the large transitions in road height I am getting occassional rubbing from the tires. I could drop to a lower sidewall height but I still have a jarring ride and possibly exasperting the issue.
My first inclination is to swap out the Spax springs for something less stiff but the original CD springs are less than desirable. A gentleman is selling some 98 CSE originals on the classified but I've heard these are a bit cushy also. Suggestions?
