Hello,
my early 91' 9000 T16 recently had a minor engine rebuild (valves, timing chain, etc) and I get turbo boost problems ever since. It seems that the turbo only works properly at speeds of 160kph (100mph) and above (it pulls strongly to 220kph and then till the end of the tacho).
When I accelerate hard the turbo boost gauge goes to the begining of the red zone (1 bar measured with a calibrated boost gauge) and 1 or 2 seconds later it loses boost and power (to 0,4 bar, gauge at middle of yellow zone).
The really strange thing is that this never happen before this service.
I replaced the DI unit at about 140.000km, the car is 180.000 km now.
I ran it for two years with only minor faults and allways been a joy to use, really a great car.
I've searched the thread but I don't think that someone reported a similar problem. I really have full boost for few seconds or at speed.
If some of you could help I appreciate. I leave in Portugal and there are fews Saabs 9000 over here, let alone mechanics that can deal with it. No one have a faint clue of what's going on.
Thanks,
Claudio Neto
