Saab Technicians- Question about Fuel Line Check Valves

In the past 6 months I've changed 2 different fuel line check valves on my late model 9000s.
The Saab replacement parts are much bigger on the fuel line side than the originals. Something about a broken mold or some such.
The fuel line must be teflon as it doesn't stretch even a mm. I couldn't even get the end in. I wound up making up an adapter out of brass barbed fittings.
So I wonder how the Saab Mechanics change these?
