Not repairable, but they make a fair door stop. The oil is most likely for cooling and voltage insulation of the coil assembly just as it is in high voltage transformers and capacitors. Damage sounds like it is done, try a new one, They are not cheap, do NOT buy a used one unless you can try it first (my opinion). It does multiple things, its not just a dumb spark box.
