If you get the Saab shop manual it is not bad. When I was doing it regularly(don't ask) I could get it out in 2+ hours. It takes a little longer to put it back. You need jack stands, a floor jack, plus another jack to hold up the engine, the aforementioned manual, and a good set of tools. It helps to build up a wooden template for the floor jack to hold the transmission in the proper orientation to ease reassembly. I have done it on 86 and 91 9000Ts. The 91 was easier, fewer things to remove and more room to operate. I made a post a long time ago describing all the steps but I can't find it now. Good luck!
