Car in question is my 89 9000 CD turbo 5 speed. I started with the stock suspension but the Nivomats were a bit saggy in the rear so I went a bit overboard and went to a Spax spring 30mm drop and a Bilstein HD shocks all around as well as a set of SAS sway bars. Car handled like it was on rails but was a bit bouncy. I put a set of SAS poly spacers in the rear to get rid of the flat or slightly lower rear. The front sits really low and looks mean but I occasionally scrape my front spoiler which was in pristine condition. Well I moved into the mountains and the road to work is not so great anymore so I picked up a set of 98 CSE springs with 36K miles on them. Color codes match that of a 97 Automatic Aero springs. Well, in my lighter 89 the springs sat a bit too high in the front. Higher than the original CD springs. 90% of the bounciness was gone but still there over sharp undulations. As a 3rd attempt I took the original CD front springs and cut one loop off them and mounted them to the Bilsteins, which seems to work well. However the springs don't seat well in the front struts but worked well for the experiment. Rake with the Aero springs in the rear looks good but is still too bouncy in the rear. I'd like to put the CD rears in but I've always heard these are really soft.

So...in my attempt to get a good real world ride and performance I'd like some suggestions. I can't pitch the Bilsteins. They were just too danged expensive. I'm thinking of trying to pick up another set of stock saab springs and would like some suggestions as to what year and model to look for. I'd like it a bit lowered from the CD suspension but the 30mm is realistically a bit too far.

At this point I think I'll E-bay the Aero springs and Spax springs or look for someone to trade for something I can use for this car. I'm thinking Saab 9k turbo from 87-93 would be a good choice??? Anyways any suggestions would be much appreciated.
