As you will soon learn, the 92-93 9000's with TCS all run into this problem sooner or later it seems and it's a very common problem. I bought mine last month and ran into the exact same problem. Do a search on TCS in the archives for a better idea of how big a problem it is and how to fix it, but I will give you a head start. First, your TCS system cannot be turned off for the most part, meaning you have to deal with it and fix it or it will contiune to run like it is. Second, it seems that vast majority of what is known as limp home mode is caused by a defective TCS bleeder valve, check valve, or throttle body for the most part. When the computer detects a malfunction at one of the sensor's for the TCS system it goes into limp home mode, which is what you are experiencing. Restarting the engine can as you see reset the system, sometimes only temporarily. You will need to start by checking all the vacuum hoses to and from the TCS bleeder valve/safety valve, which is located on the false firewall right behing the oil dipstick. It has three hoses coming off of it, one goes to the throttle body, one to the manifold, and one vents to atmosphere. You can check if its working properly by checking the resistance when warm, I forget the numbers but do a search for TCS and there are many posts with the figure you are looking for. Second, there is a red/white check valve which connects via vacuum hose to the bleeder valve and this also can go bad and throw the system out of wack. Replacing both these valves will fix most of the TCS malfunctions it seems. If it doesn't, clean the inside of the throttle body out with carb cleaner and a tooth brush. If that doesn't help, the throttle body might have to be replaced with a new one, and you should go to the stealer to get the codes pulled to see what else causing LHM. Go to eeuroparts.com for your TCS valve and throttle body needs, pricing is very competitive. Good luck!
