Engine cut-out when hot

Has anybody got advice as to why my Saab 9000 2.3T (1991)cuts-out when hot, particularly if I'm in traffic crawling along at 5 mph ? The engine idle becomes very uneven and then the TCS & ABS warning lights appear on the dash board. The engine stalls/cuts-out and is difficult to re-start for about 45 mins until the engine has apparently cooled down. Also, after say a 10+ mile journey it is difficult to restart the engine until it has again cooled. Has anybody had experience of this ? It does seem to be temperature sensitive and could be one of the engine sensors 'playing-up'?
Any suggestions gratefully received !
Thnaks,
Gerald Reeves
