1993 2.3 FPT with TCS , have been running in limp home for months now, TCS CTRL illuminated but ABS light acts normally. have replaced both TCS solenoid valves ( one was ok, wheel well mounted one was dead ) checked check valve, & hoses, cleaned throttle body,& did resistive checks of TB & system as per Townsend Site, cant find any problems , do I finally just have to give up & pay the dealer to plug in their computer ?
I'm very reluctant to do this as previous experience with the local dealer is that the "techs" barely recognise an "old" 9000 let alone having any knowledge of the TCS system !
Is it likely that given one defective valve the TCS cpu has stored a "permanent" code which requires a "reset"
I'm seriously concidering installing a spring to the throttle arm to lighten up the pedal action & pulling the bulb from the dash !!
The ABS is still working ( i've tested it several times over the past few days )
assuming I rehose the BOV directly to inlet manifold & accepting that I'll loose cruise control is there anything dangerous about this brutal solution ?
Thanks in advance,
Stephen
