Ari,
Thanks for your advice. Sounds not critical, and I will fix it when the car is in for an overhaul.
The point you make about the engine "labouring" at low rpm, I can feel it, especially when I ease off gas, and let the car slows down on 3rd gear to about 1300 rpm. The engine would sound as if it were about to stall before the auto tranny automatically shifts down 1 gear thereby increasing the rpm.
About terminology, is the part at fault which I called "gear shift spring kit" formally known as "accumulator spring" or "valve body spring"?
