1992 Saab CD 9000: Ever since I bought the car the accerator has been very stiff. I was assured by the seller, a friend of a friend, that was normal. It has resulted in the assembly breaking twice.
The first time was on the drivers side just above the pedal where the arm and the rod that spans the car join. The rod twists, and levers the cable on the passenger side. This seems to me as a pretty shoddy left to right hand conversion of the assembly as the rod is under constant stress.
I was able to get the rod welded back together but am now faced with the same problem but on the passenger side. I have been told by someone that there is a better way by going through the firewall on the drivers side, but am unable to find the kits anywhere. Has anyone got some suggestions?
