Resetting Radio (will it drain battery?)

so, I think I found my radio code, however, as I had previously tried about 100 different combos (even when it says "Code In" and I punch in the code, it locks up,) I think I need to 'reset' the radio by leaving the radio on while the ignition is on for one hour.
Question: Will this drain my battery? Seems like it might, and a dead battery is exactly what put me in this position to begin with!
Thanks.
