I appreciate everyone's input on this problem. I decided to try the simplest thing that I found on past postings, so got out my rubber mallet and banged on the fuel tank 6-7 times. This was supposed to hopefully shake the fuel pump motor off of a flat spot if that was the problem. Sure enough it worked, so at 182,000 miles it will need replacing soon. At least I didn't have to do alot of time consuming diagnosis. Thanks again to everyone.
