I bought my '93 Aero the exact day it was dropped off at what
was then the best Saab dealer in the state, and watched the
past owner take away his brand new Viggen !
The car came with a sheath of records between 1 and 2" thick,
was clean as a new car, and had been owned by a man who was
so completely non-mechanical that he brought it for service
if it had the least thing out of sound or sight - and spent
(I think...) more than the 39k he paid for it in the 6-7
years he owned it.
It then passed into my hands, and proceeded to eat money in
$1000 chunks, frequently, though I was gentle, attentive, and
adored that car - it almost made me bankrupt - and most of
the repairs centered on the TCS, ETS, connected systems, and
the EFI ECU that eventually forced me to part with the car
because it is no longer made, only available refurbed, and
cost about $1000, which I could no longer afford.
I looked fruitlessly for a '91, and ended up trading the Aero
EVEN for an '88 9KT, and have never regretted it for a single
second !!!!!
Imagine, a car that -only- seems to ever really need brakes,
exhaust and other routine stuff.....Nirvana by comparison to
that damned TCS 'enhanced' car !!!
My opinion and experience remain unaltered - faced with a '92
or '93 with TCS, and especially if it has A/T, I would RUN
away, as fast as I could !!!
Just my 2 cents though.
Best Wishes,
mark
