...there are only a few tuners that know how to program the T5. It requires knowledge of Saabs proprietary software concerning the fuel, timing, and boost pressure control parameters. There are literally a handful of people that do this and they're all Swedish or Swiss. MapTun and Hirsch are probably the most knowledgeable - their software is the most widely copied. MapTun was the first to market software with fuel and ignition mapping geared to larger injectors. The owner had plenty of experience from work at Saab's engine labs. His partner, Fredrik, built and programmed the engine in the picture. He also consults for one of the huge multi-national telecommunications firms in Sweden. Hirsch is the 'certified' tuner for Saab, based in St. Galen. Both Hirsch & MapTun do excellent programming.
