It is the worst year 9000 one could possibly buy. '93 was the only year the 3.61:1 transaxle was offered on long-block engines (the block changed in '94 and all '94-up transaxles used a larger, less splined input shaft and different bolt pattern on the bell housing. What this means is there's a very limited supply of replacement transaxles, unless one wants an older 4.05:1 final drive ('91-'92), for contingencies. Also, all '93 turbos had TCS - say no more! The only redeeming quality to a '93 is the glove box. More than any other vehicle, Saabs tend to stick with a particular design and refine it over a long period of time. Because of this, the best model 9000's are the later ones - Aero included.
