Have same car. Disconnect wires from fan switch, than short them together-fan should run regardless of the ignition switch.(but try with ignition on also). If it's not- check the fuse first. Also, there is a time-delay relay behind glove compartment-if it's fried-fan will either run all the time or will not at all. Don't buy a new one-it's expensive and unnecessary! Check Townsends website-he has write up on it- basicly you throw relay out and connect two pins together.
Is your radiator hot when temperature is going up? Flush it, see what happens.
