Brent,
Hope all's well!
You could modify the factory bypass valve to vent to atmos. but the typical bypass valve will be open with idle vacuum. Opening an end to atmos. will allow for debris/unfiltered air to enter the engine through this open valve.
The factory bypass valve could be replaced using BOV/atmos. dump valve and would provide the most vocal relief. The BOV will only open (or could be adjusted to only open) at a surge vacuum (between shifts) and not at an idle vacuum which prevents any introduction of unfiltered air into the engine.
Use of an open intake air filter element in conjunction with the factory bypass valve would be another possible option. Bypassing air would be more audible through the open filter element and this upgrade is a simple matter of removing the factory air box/canister and directly attaching a filter element.
Best of luck and regards,
GSK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
