You need to remove the driver housing (19) and remove the circlip on the inside.
Many non Saab shops have used the BIG prybar on the 9000 and C900 trying to pry the drivers out.
You can't blame them since so many other makes use that feature AND the NG900/9-3 and 9-5 too.
The right driver might be more tricky since I don't know if you can get to the snap ring without removing the aluminum housing holding it to engine block.
I have never had to replace the right driver on a 9000.
